Q. I have never lifted weights; how do I know this is for me?
A. CrossFit Waldwick is for everyone. All the workouts are designed for scalability.
Q. Do I need to complete the On Ramp even if I've been lifting weights and working out for years?
A. Yes. A strong fitness level and experience will serve you well at Crossfit Waldwick, and yes, you still need to go through our On Ramp! In our On Ramp you will not only learn the foundational movements necessary to be successful in our programs, but it will also give you the chance to get comfortable with our gym, our methods, our coaches and our community. When you walk in for your first day of advanced class, you’ll have a solid foundation to continue to build on, not to mention the confidence to hit the ground running.
Q. Who can join- is it only for athletes or highly conditioned people?
A. Because CrossFit Waldwick's workouts can be scaled for each individual’s fitness level, anyone can join in on the fun! The only requirements are that you are willing to work hard, to learn new things, have a positive attitude and have the desire and passion to let us help you reach your fitness goals. You will succeed and see great results. Currently, we are training individuals of all ages. We want to coach anyone desiring to get into the best shape of their lives.
Q. What about Nutrition?
A. Without proper nutrition your body will not be able to withstand the workouts or activities of daily living. Regardless of your fitness goals, increased strength, weight-loss, nutrition is the driving force behind these ambitions. Establishing proper eating patterns will not only fuel your body for the workouts, but aid in energizing in throughout your day. Failing to get your nutritional intake in check will result in slowed progress with any program. The basic concept behind eating the right things in the right portions is simple: Eat meat, vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruits, minimal amounts of starch and NO sugar.
Q. Can I contact you directly if I still have questions?
A. Feel free to contact our coaches at anytime. If we are in a training session we will be sure to return your call or email as soon as we can! Of course you are welcome to come to the gym in person and see what we are all about during our scheduled group training.
Q. I'm going on vacation; can I put my membership on hold? What is your policy on holds?
A. Unfortunately, we will not put your membership on hold due to going on vacation, an injury occurring outside of our confines, illness, change in work schedule, etc. We generally will not put memberships on hold for any reason except for specific circumstances which will be on a case by case basis; (deployment, injury occurring while in one of our classes; injury/illness accompanied by a doctors note which includes an end date.
